While we were shooting in NOLA we got a call about a food cart in the state's capitol, Baton Rouge, that serves alligator po-boys. Naturally we had to take a trip out to investigate. What we happened upon was Moochie's Mobile Munchies, a late night LSU hotspot serving gluttonous burgers, brisket chili smothered fries, and their signature po-boy complete with not just an alligator sausage, but piled high will pulled pork. These things were massive. So massive, that a competition was called for. Check out the episode to see who won! Learn more about Moochies online at http://facebook.com/moochies

Because so many of the carts we cover are brand spankin' new, we often forget that street vending isn't a 2010 thing. It's been around for hundreds of years in this country! And one such example is the Roman Candy Company, a New Orleans classic that hasn't changed much since 1915. So what's Roman Candy? Well, it's a hand pulled taffy stick, rolled in wax paper, in a variety of flavors. All the sticks are made fresh on the mule pulled cart, and sold for at 75 cents a piece. Fred's Franks

Fred's Franks
The windows were rolled down as we pulled off at I-128's exit 40 in Wakefield, MA and as soon as we hit the off ramp my little car was filled with the smells of charcoal and hot dogs. A beautiful smell if I do say so myself. Order a link and Fred'll first hand you the bun to fill up with your favorite condiments before plopping a Hot Dog, Kielbasa, Chorico or Linguiça that's been charred to perfection over a huge green egg shaped grill modeled after a kamado. Massive is an understatement. These dogs are huge, yet to my surprise, people were ordering two or three half pounders at once! Crazy!Question of the weekWhat's your favorite type of link? It's a huge plate of Belgian frites, topped with cheddar cheese curds, and drenched in brown gravy! Delicious in that guilty "There go my arteries" sort of way. Not only did we feast on all of owner Mike McKinnon's tasty fries, but we had a Poutine eating contest between two girls, one dog, and me. Watch the video to see who won!You can learn more about The Potato Champion on their website, and be sure to follow them on twitter.T-Shirt GiveawayWe're giving away two Potato Champion t-shirts to the Cartivores answer this question in the comments: What is the best french fry topper?

We had a great time filming at Hong's, which we found nestled among trees and stores on Burlington's Church Street. Owner Hong Yu isn't kidding when she says she likes big dumplings; they're massive! With fillings like crab & cream cheese or cheese & chicken, they're were sinful and delicious. As dumplings are my favorite food, I couldn't be happier having Hong be the first episode about those plump pouches.
