What is PodFreaks

This website is dedicated to playing back video podcasts, also called vodcasts. We are not the only site offering this, but we are one of the few that supports HTML5 video playback (with Flash fallback).

Now what does that mean to me, you think? Well, if you like many others own an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch you might have noticed that they do not support Adobe Flash, which is commonly used for internet video. Thanks to HTML5, users of these devices are no longer left out in the cold, since this technology is supported by Apples devices and most other new devices and internet browsers released. Furthermore, using HTML5 for internet videos conserves your precious battery life better than Flash.

Why not just use iTunes for my podcasting needs?

iTunes mainly downloads all your podcast subscriptions to your PC or Mac. Then, after waiting for the download to complete, you must connect and sync your iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch to get the videos transferred - now you are ready to watch it. With PodFreaks, find the show you want - and press play :)

iTunes for iOS also lets you stream content right away, but it's slow and you can't keep a list of what you like to see. With PodFreaks, you can create a login and follow the podcasts you like!
